Eagle Hill Farm has over 70 volunteers, many of whom come several times a week or weekly to help with the horses, the training, and many other tasks that come up every day, some quite unexpected!
Here are some pictures of our volunteers at work. We appreciate them immensely and would be lost without their help and support.
| Michelle is more than a volunteer. She has been a farm sitter and constant resident this past summer. Whether taking pictures, mucking stalls, caring for sick horses, arranging Vet and farrier visits, she has done it all. Michelle, recently married and congratulations, by the way, is also busy monitoring the web site and sending in new pictures she has taken. She also sends many of our pictures to other websites and magazines so that many people can be aware of Eagle Hill and our available horse. Michelle adopted Trix and Destiny and has been active in their training. Coming to Eagle Hill as yearlings, both Trix and Destiny were given their ground work so they had some manners. Very important since they are 17 hands now. This past summer, Michelle went often to the trainers where Trix and Destiny were receiving their experience as riding horses. She has them both at home with her now and rides them whenever possible. Thanks Michelle for all you do. | ||
| Pam works with the babies in the Basic and Intermediate Training area, and also works with people who are having trouble speaking "horse" and need some training with their equine child. She also trailer trains horses and will haul them locally.
Another task is evaluating each 'riding horse' that comes in; doing basic ground work with that horse before any riding is done, observing the horse being ridden, and determining if the horse is an acceptable partner for any interested party. Pam practices Natural Horsemanship principles and teaches all of our riders the natural methods of riding which they then apply to our riding horses. Continuity of training is maintained throughout. She also maintains the web site. |

| 4-H participants from local area 4-H organizations often come out to volunteer their time for special clean-up projects. The young horses seem to love the children and are very comfortable around them. | ![]() |
![]() Sheriff is one of our nurse mare foals that is now a yearling and residing elsewhere. He is pictured here with his Mom, Robin who still spends a lot of quality time at Eagle Hill doing whatever needs to be done; mucking stalls, painting, clean-up, horse grooming, bucket scrubbing, and still finds time to play with Sheriff, work full time and have a family. Quite a feat! Robin and Michelle are responsible for "Bucks" new blanket and X-mas stocking. See our Rehabiilitation Page for pix of Buck and his story. Robin has given selflessly of her time and energy as have many of our volunteers and we are truly grateful for her help and friendship. See more pix of Robin and Sheriff in the Adopted Section. |
| Families also participate together in our volunteer program. Tammy, Chris and the boys were regulars every week and fed horses, cleaned stalls, and whatever else was needed. | ![]() |

| The Young Marines and another of our volunteers, Brian Sperry, the owner of Victor in our Victors Illusion story are seen here helping to 'rehab' the storage area into a barn suitable for horses. | ![]() |

![]() You might have seen Gabriela if you visited Eagle Hill Farm on a Sunday. She helped with the picture taking and tagging of horses, helped people picking up their new children and many other tasks. She has moved to Florida and we wish her and her new children good luck in their new home. | ![]() |
![]() Liz began volunteering at Eagle Hill last summer with the first arrival of PMU and Pony Skin babies. After school was out (she is a teacher) she has rejoined us as a ground work and riding person. Her help has been invaluable. She uses natural horsemanship riding principles and is seen above riding her new 'child', David. |
![]() Leslie and her daughter Maggie helped for a year to keep all of us 'barn'organized and things running smoothly for Annie, the Vet and the farrier. Leslie also helped with the gentling of new ones when she was at the barn at the right time. |

![]() Adi is one of our volunteers who rides our horses after school once or twice a week. We appreciate her knowledge and effort. She has done a lovely job with several of our horses. |
![]() Jeannie is our Jazzercise queen and our 'Beauty Parlor' specialist. Once the horses are gentled to touch all over, Jeannie uses curry and brush to make them beautiful. They usually fall asleep with her gentle touch. In addition, Jeannie is a great photographer and has taken a lot of the Nursemare pictures. |
