GRIEVING MARE - ORPHAN FOAL DIRECTORY

Every birthing season there are mares that lose their foals. They are full of milk but will dry up if not nursing. Every birthing season there are foals that lose their mothers. Raising an orphan is now much easier with milk replacement products available but although milk supplement is available, it is very expensive and must be given every two hours round the clock. Having a "real horse mom" is a much better alternative as she provides not only round the clock feeding and care, but socialization of the foal with people and other horses as well.

Grieving Mare - Orphan Foal

A new FREE service is starting to help grieving mares, those who have lost their new born foals, and foals in need of immediate lactating foster Mom's find each other. This is how we hope the list will work.

Just email your location, City and state, along with a contact number and we will immediately place it on our website. If we can help one foal with the opportunity to find a local foster mom and give a mare the joy of motherhood this will be worth the little time it will take to maintain and update the list. All arrangements will be done privately - between the individuals in need of help.

It is our hope that we can help people that have "Mares Without Foals" find "Foals Without Moms" by maintaining this list of available lactating mares and orphaned foals. But, we provide only the information. It is up to the individual to search through the list, find an appropriate match, and make the contact and arrangements. We are only the "phone Book". If you have the misfortune of ending up with a lactating mare without a foal or an orphaned foal, please e-mail us at:
pamkramer@cox.net and include the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Today's Date
  • Your e-mail address
  • Your phone number and/or cell phone number
  • Your location/address
  • Whether you have a lactating mare or a orphaned foal

This list will be updated daily. Your name will be removed from the list after a week as we will assume you have made a connection or other arrangements. If you wish to have your information remain on the list for longer than this time, please indicate so in the e-mail. Again, we will NOT make the contact for you. We are providing a list only. It is up to you to locate someone near your area, contact them and make the necessary arrangements. We would ask, however, that you send us an e-mail and maybe a picture of the successful union so we can put it on our website.
